Acting Techniques

Modern Acting traces itself back to Constantin Stanislavki in turn-of-the-century Russia. His teachings inspired most of the most commonly taught acting methods today including the Meisner, Adler and Strasberg systems. Other theater practitioners developed movement based systems of acting technique, while others developed a presentational acting style fitting to epic theater and theater of the absurd. This book introduces all these styles and the people who developed them into finely honed systems of art.
